Challenge Ahead

CloudTalk is looking for a Go/Node.js engineer who builds fast, codes smart, and treats AI as the default development workflow — not a side tool.

We work with clear specs and well-defined problem statements, but we expect engineers to turn those specs into production systems using an AI-accelerated approach.

We combine strong product direction with aggressive AI adoption: Claude Code for scaffolding and refactoring, Cursor for rapid iteration, ChatGPT for design exploration and tests, and internal agents for automation.

A key part of this role is evangelizing AI-first engineering inside the team — helping others unlock 2–5× productivity improvements by combining solid engineering judgment with AI-powered execution.

What You Will Work On

• Build and evolve backend services in Go and Node.js for our AI platform
• Take specifications and convert them into designs and implementations using an AI-first workflow: generate → refine → validate → harden → ship
• Implement microservices and real-time APIs (REST, gRPC, WebSockets) used by internal AI agents and customer-facing features
• Build pipelines for audio processing, embeddings, transcripts, and LLM-powered reasoning (summaries, QA, sentiment, voice agents)
• Use AI tools (Claude Code, Cursor, ChatGPT) to accelerate development — from scaffolding to tests to performance tuning — while keeping engineering quality fully under your control
• Work with PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis, Kafka/SQS as needed, guided by architecture and performance requirements
• Deploy, monitor, and optimize services using Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD, AWS/GCP
• Act as an AI workflow ambassador: run demos, pair with teammates, challenge old patterns, and help the team build faster with confidence

What We Are Looking For

• Experience with Claude Code or similar tool
• Experience with MCP servers
• 5+ years of backend experience, ideally with Go + Node.js
• Strong understanding of concurrency, distributed systems, networking, and real-world production challenges.
• Experience building microservices and cloud-native systems from clear specifications
• Ability to use AI tools as force multipliers, not shortcuts — you stay in control of architecture, correctness, and performance
• Comfortable owning a service end-to-end: design, code, tests, deployment, observability
• Pragmatic mindset: specs guide you, AI accelerates you, engineering judgment grounds you

Nice to Have

• Experience with real-time communication, VoIP, or WebRTC
• Background with LLM/AI pipelines, speech recognition, NLP, embeddings, or analytics
• Open-source contributions (ideally Go, Node.js)
• Familiarity with clean architecture, DDD, CQRS — used as tools, not religion
