The Role

We are seeking native Hindi speakers with strong phonetic and dialectal knowledge to support speech annotation. Accurate annotation is essential due to rich consonant inventories, regional variations, and frequent code-switching with English (Hinglish).

Key Responsibilities

• Transcribe Hindi speech accurately, including aspirated vs. unaspirated consonants and retroflex sounds.
• Identify and annotate regional variations and code-switching with English.
• Tag paralinguistic events such as hesitations, laughter, and background sounds.
• Ensure annotation consistency and high-quality transcription standards.
• Distinguish dialectal boundaries with related languages such as Urdu and Punjabi.

Requirements

Requirements

• Native-level proficiency in Hindi.
• Strong understanding of phonetics, dialects, and tonal/consonant distinctions.
• Familiarity with Devanagari script.
• Excellent analytical, writing, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in linguistics, transcription, or speech annotation.
• Familiarity with generative AI or machine learning concepts.
