Software Application Trainer

The Utility Application Trainer is responsible for delivering effective training to clients and internal employees on utility software and applications. This role focuses on facilitating user adoption and retention of new systems during and after implementation. The Trainer may also conduct application demonstrations during the pre-sales process.

Essential Job Functions

• Deliver instructor-led and virtual training sessions for utility software and applications.
• Develop training materials such as manuals, handouts, course outlines, and eLearning content.
• Work closely with clients, project teams, and subject matter experts to understand training needs.
• Facilitate training workshops and seminars that promote user adoption and effective use of software.
• Assist with creating training schedules, registration, and classroom management.
• Provide ongoing support and feedback to ensure retention of training content.
• Run software demonstrations during the pre-sales process as needed.
• Evaluate training effectiveness and update materials based on feedback and system changes.
• Prepare hands-on learning activities and skill assessments to participants, providing follow-up guidance where necessary.

Skill Requirements

Required

• MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Ability to delivery training in-person and virtually (webinars, remote sessions)

Desired

• Experience with Utility Software/applications
• Familiarity with adult learning principles and instructional design

Experience Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in training delivery and curriculum development.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience with utility software or related technical applications.

Education Requirements

• Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or other related field OR 4 years of experience.

Certification Requirements

• Relevant training certifications (e.g., Certified Technical Trainer) preferred.
