A fast-growing South African technology startup building a global talent and work-opportunity ecosystem. The platform connects job seekers, freelancers, and businesses through real-time matching, digital profiles, and integrated payment/wallet features. The engineering team is expanding to support rapid product scaling and new feature development.

DESCRIPTION OF POSITION:

A mid to senior Blockchain Developer is required to design, implement, and integrate blockchain-based solutions for a tech startup operating in the talent marketplace, digital identity, and global payment ecosystem. The role includes smart contract development, on-chain/off-chain integration, and ensuring secure blockchain architecture.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

- Proficiency in blockchain development (Solidity or similar smart contract languages).

- Understanding of EVM-compatible blockchains, tokens and wallet structures.

- Strong grasp of blockchain security, auditing and common vulnerability prevention.

- Expertise in designing on-chain/off-chain workflows and integrations.

- Experience integrating blockchain components with backend APIs (Node.js).

- Good understanding of cryptography principles (keys, signatures, encryption).

- Strong analytical, architectural and documentation skills.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

Degree or diploma in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field advantageous.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

- 3 to 5+ years of blockchain development experience.

- Hands-on smart contract development and deployment experience.

- Proven experience integrating blockchain with traditional backend systems.

- Experience working in remote, cross-functional engineering teams.

ADVANTAGEOUS SKILLS:

- Experience with token creation, tokenomics or decentralised applications (dApps).

- Knowledge of multi-chain or interoperability frameworks.

- Experience with custodial or non-custodial wallet design.

- Understanding of financial transaction flows or digital asset management.
