Software Engineer – API Integrations (Remote)

Who We’re Looking For:
We are seeking a Software Engineer – API Integrations to support a technology-driven financial software client by designing and building robust API integrations that ingest and normalize financial data from a wide range of accounting systems. This is a full-time, salaried, fully remote role reporting to the client’s Director of Engineering. Occasional bi-annual, in-person team meetings are encouraged but not required.
Responsibilities:
- Design and build API integrations to extract trial balances, transactions, and other financial data from external accounting systems
- Implement and maintain connectors using Python, JavaScript, and C#/.NET client libraries
- Normalize inconsistent or complex API outputs into a defined financial data model
- Debug and troubleshoot third-party API issues to ensure reliable data ingestion
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams in a remote-first environment
- Contribute to broader backend engineering initiatives as integrations evolve into long-term ingestion pipelines
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience building and supporting commercial software products
- Strong experience with API integrations and data ingestion workflows
- Proficiency in Python or JavaScript, with backend experience in C#/.NET
- Experience working with accounting or ERP systems and financial data concepts (e.g., trial balance, general ledger, transactions)
- Ability to transform messy or inconsistent data into clean, structured models
- Strong problem-solving and debugging skills when working with external APIs
- Experience with API orchestration platforms (e.g., Pipedream Connect) is a plus
- Comfortable working in a remote-first, asynchronous environment
