Java Developer – 6–12 Month Contract (Potential to Extend)

Location: Fully remote with occasional workshops (every 6 weeks) in London, Manchester, Newcastle, or Leeds

About the Opportunity

We’re seeking skilled Java Developers to join a high-impact project starting in January 2026. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a collaborative, agile environment on critical systems for an exciting programme.

You’ll be part of a team that values technical excellence, problem-solving, and innovation. While the role is primarily remote, occasional in-person workshops will help foster team alignment and knowledge sharing.

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Design, develop, and maintain secure, scalable applications using Java.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions.
• Contribute to code reviews and ensure adherence to best practices.
• Implement unit testing and follow TDD principles.
• Work within agile frameworks and participate in sprint planning and retrospectives.

Tech Stack You’ll Be Using:

• Languages: Java
• Frameworks & Tools: Spring Boot, REST APIs
• Version Control: Git
• CI/CD: Jenkins or similar tools
• Cloud: AWS (beneficial)

Requirements

What We’re Looking For:

• Experienced in software development.
• Strong proficiency in Java and related frameworks.
• Familiarity with agile methodologies and collaborative development practices.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a distributed team.
• Eligible for BPSS clearance; SC eligibility is advantageous.
