We are currently seeking a Senior Lead Engineer/Architect – Java

Location: Pune / Remote (India)
Experience: 10+ years
Reports To: Engineering Manager, EXA-DS

Role Overview:

We are seeking a highly experienced and self-driven Senior Architect to lead the design and development of scalable, high-performance solutions within the EXA Data Services (S3DS/NSDS) product line.
The candidate should have a strong background in Java, Spring Framework, and distributed systems architecture, with proven experience in building large-scale storage or data service products end-to-end.

Key Responsibilities:

• Define and own the architecture, design, and technical roadmap for S3DataService component.
• Lead the product lifecycle from requirements and design to development, testing, and release.
• Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and reviews for the engineering team.
• Drive improvements in performance, scalability, and reliability of distributed data systems.
• Collaborate with QA, DevOps, and Support (L3) teams to ensure stability and quality.
• Evaluate and implement customer-driven features in collaboration with Product Management.
• Ensure adherence to best practices, coding standards, and architectural principles.

Required Skills and Experience:

• Strong expertise in Java, Spring Framework (Core, Boot, Data), and server-side programming.
• Hands-on experience with Maven, REST APIs, and microservices architecture.
• Solid understanding of system design, architecture patterns, and distributed systems.
• Deep knowledge of data storage, Big Data systems, Cassandra, Hadoop, and Elasticsearch.
• Experience with S3 object storage protocol and related storage technologies.
• Strong foundation in Linux, networking, and infrastructure-level debugging.
• Proven ability to lead design and implementation for large-scale enterprise systems.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Self-sufficient, proactive, and capable of working independently with minimal supervision.

• Experience with Python, containerization (Podman/Docker/Kubernetes), and CI/CD workflows.
• Prior experience with distributed file systems or high-availability storage solutions.
• Understanding of security, data consistency, and fault-tolerant architectures.
