Job description

Technical Project Manager

Core Job to be Done

Enable the CTO to focus on strategic product/engineering decisions and special projects by managing execution, coordinating technical teams, and handling operational overhead

Technical Delivery Requirements

Product & Engineering Coordination

Own product roadmap tracking: monitor progress across all Q4 2025 - Q2 2026 deliverables
Coordinate sprint planning and retrospectives with engineering team
Track technical debt and prioritize with CTO
Manage cross-team dependencies: Frontend, Backend, AI/ML, DevOps
Run weekly engineering sync and maintain action items
Identify blockers and escalate before they impact delivery timelines

Special Projects Support

Research new technologies, tools, and AI models for evaluation
Build prototypes and POCs for strategic initiatives
Coordinate with vendors and partners on technical integrations
Manage evaluation of new ERP/CLM connectors
Support AI experimentation: new models, fine-tuning approaches
Document findings and recommendations for CTO review

Technical Program Management

Coordinate 9 customer implementations with Implementation Specialists
Track technical milestones for Series A readiness
Manage SOC 2 compliance preparation with Platform Engineer
Coordinate technical due diligence for fundraising
Maintain engineering documentation: architecture diagrams, runbooks
Manage technical hiring pipeline: screen candidates, coordinate interviews

Engineering Operations

Maintain engineering metrics dashboard: velocity, cycle time, deployment frequency
Coordinate on-call rotation and incident response with Platform Engineer
Track infrastructure costs and optimize with Platform Engineer
Manage engineering tools and licenses
Coordinate team training and knowledge sharing sessions
Handle vendor communications for technical tooling

CTO Executive Support

Prepare materials for board meetings and investor updates (technical sections)
Draft technical content: architecture docs, API documentation, RFP responses
Manage CTO calendar and prioritize time allocation
Act as technical point of contact when CTO is unavailable
Handle ad-hoc requests: "Can you research X? ", "Can you prototype Y? "

Required Skills

Technical depth: Software engineering background, can code and review architecture
Full-stack familiarity: Python/TypeScript, AWS, databases, APIs
AI/ML knowledge: Understand LLMs, fine-tuning, RAG, vector databases
Project management: Experience managing technical initiatives in fast-paced environments
Tools: GitHub, Linear/JIRA, Notion, Datadog, CI/CD pipelines
Communication: Translate between technical and non-technical stakeholders
Startup experience: Comfortable with ambiguity, context-switching, wearing multiple hats
Execution-oriented: Bias for action, gets things done without hand-holding
