WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR

The Recording Academy is seeking an experienced Project Manager to join our Project Management Office (PMO) and help drive operational efficiency and excellence across the organization. In this highly visible role, you will lead and deliver complex, multi-level, cross-functional projects that align with key business objectives, partnering closely with the Chief Strategy Officer and reporting to the Senior Director, Project Management. You will play a critical role in shaping and implementing project management standards, championing process adoption, and fostering best practices within the PMO and across multiple departments to ensure consistent, successful project execution organization-wide.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Lead end-to-end project management, including project leadership, scope management, resource planning, budget oversight, risk management, detailed project planning, execution, monitoring and reporting, deployment and closeout.
  • Manage internal and external stakeholder communications and relationships, ensuring all outputs meet client expectations with measurable success outcomes.
  • Assess risk and manage change, re-setting expectations as needed in consideration of project progress/outcomes.
  • Maintain a high level of communication with internal and external teams by providing clear, tactful, and complete directives, realistic deliverable deadlines, and prompt, actionable feedback.
  • Work side-by-side with project and departmental team members in a hands-on capacity to drive effective execution and alignment across all stakeholders while driving accountability.
  • Identify, formulate strategies to address, and oversee the resolution of business process issues and improvements to internal processes to create efficiencies.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of existing service offerings and awareness of technical, creative, and business direction.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelors degree and relevant business process analysis and/or project management training and experience. PMP certification preferred.
  • 5+ years of project/program management experience, ideally in creative, strategic, or cross-functional environment.
  • Proficiency with PM tools (e.g., Airtable, Smartsheet, Asana, Jira), Microsoft Office and Google Suite, and various workflow management software to manage various business processes and for analytical tracking.
  • Experience with a variety of project management methodologies (waterfall, lean, agile, etc.) and the ability to apply the best method to the needs of each project.
  • Proven ability to drive complex projects made up of diverse teams from concept to completion with strong attention to detail and follow-through.
  • Analytical thinking with the ability to work with data, budgets, timelines, and performance metrics to inform decisions, processes, workflow, and accountability.
  • Demonstrated work ethic and ownership mindset, taking pride in delivering exceptional outcomes versus checking boxes, and working tirelessly to achieve those outcomes.
  • Proven competency in the areas of diplomacy and sensitivity.
  • Must be highly motivated and proactive with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ability to effectively collaborate within a team and independently to anticipate needs and opportunities.
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills with the ability to manage multiple workstreams and deadlines without losing focus or compromising the quality of work.
  • Excellent communication with the ability to translate between creative, technical, and executive audiences both internally and externally to understand a broad range of needs.
  • Calm persistence with the ability to keep teams focused, solutions-oriented, and accountable.
  • Ability to respond adeptly to rapidly changing priorities with sound judgment in a complex, fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent judgment and strategic skills for ensuring positive outcomes across all stakeholders.
