Role: Senior Data Analyst (Python + SQL)
Position Type: Full-Time Contract (40hrs/week)
Contract Duration: 6 Months (With a possibility of Contract-to-hire)
Work Hours: IST (flexible to align with PST)
Work Schedule: 8 hours/day (Mon-Fri)
Location: 100% Remote - India (Hyderabad, Telangana, India upon conversion to FTE) OR 100% Remote in Mexico City, Mexico

Our Client is consolidating and cleaning high-volume content metadata and commercial data across multiple pipelines. We need a fast, precise Python/SQL SME who can move quickly through large datasets, eliminate discrepancies, and deliver programmatic solutions—avoiding manual data-governance traps—so the team can scale with fewer hand-offs.

What you'll do:

• Programmatic Data Remediation: Use Python (pandas) and SQL to analyze, cleanse, join, and reconcile millions of rows across disparate tables and schemas; prioritize speed with accuracy.
• Metadata Structuring: Build/repair content hierarchies (Series → Season → Episode), align ISO codes, and prepare clean, ingestion-ready datasets for Rightsline and allied systems.
• Discrepancy Resolution: Investigate and fix pipeline-level differences, identify root causes, propose durable programmatic fixes, and document outcomes.
• Automation & Acceleration: Replace manual librarian tasks with code—scripts/notebooks, repeatable transforms, and baselined checks that reduce human touch and increase throughput.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Programming, Metadata, and People Operations for onboarding/logistics and smooth collaboration across PST/IST.

Minimum Qualifications:

• 2–5+ years hands-on data analysis with Python (pandas) and SQL—complex joins, window functions, CTEs, and set-based diffs between large datasets.
• Proven experience cleaning and integrating multi-source data into cohesive outputs; comfort working fast under minimal hand-holding.
• Strong command of VS Code and modern dev workflows; ability to write clean, reproducible code notebooks/pipelines.
• Demonstrated ability to avoid manual governance traps by converting workflows to programmatic solutions (Python/SQL-first mindset).

Nice to Have:

• Experience in metadata systems (Rightsline or similar), Databricks/Spark SQL, and JSON flattening.
• Prior work in content/entertainment or commercial data domains (e.g., avails, pricing, subscriptions).

• Curated Assessment (no multiple choice): Short free-form Python + SQL tasks emphasizing joins, diffs, and pandas transforms.
