Job description

Title: Data Analyst, Mid-level
Location: 100% Remote
Work Time Zone: Mountain
Type: Contract
Duration: 9 months

Job Description: The company is converting 200 critical MicroStrategy reports into Looker. Candidate will create reports, communicate with customers, gather requirements, research, and troubleshoot data problems, quality assurance, etc.

Any insurance background (Workman's Comp preferred)

Bonus:

Advanced SQL (BigQuery & Oracle): Not just basic SELECT statements, but the ability to write and understand complex joins to compare datasets across two different environments.
Looker report development .Ability to create Looker dashboards
MicroStrategy Literacy: The ability to look at an MSTR report definition and understand the underlying logic (filters, transformations, and metrics).
QA & Data Validation: A "data detective " mindset—experience in systematic data reconciliation between legacy and modern systems.
Stakeholder Management: Comfortable interviewing business users to define "What do you actually need this report for? "
Technical Documentation: Ability to write clear tickets for developers when warehouse architecture changes are needed.
Insurance/Financial Literacy: (Bonus) Understanding workers' comp or general insurance metrics will significantly flatten the learning curve.
LookML Expertise: (Bonus) Proficiency in building LookML views, models, and explores. They should understand how to optimize queries to manage BigQuery costs
Data Architecture & Modeling: (Bonus) Design and build performant tables in BigQuery (Star/Snowflake schema).
Salesforce knowledge: (Bonus)
